The HTTP post interface delivers a real-time
process for domain name registration and all associated administrative
processes. The process is carried out by posting a string to a specific URL. The
URL maps to a server process which actions the request and responds according to
the outcome of the operation. Put simply, you post an action and a variable via
HTTP to a URL and the system responds by advising that the request has been
completed. This system can be seamlessly integrated into a reseller's existing
site enabling them to offer a wholly automated interface to the SharpNIC
registration engine.
Please note: An initial minimum deposit of
USD$50.00 is required for the HTTP post interface to establish a credit balance.
This is NOT required for resellers on the private label program. It is ONLY
required if you wish to use your own billing system and payment gateway.
Domain names registered to your account through
the API will progressively draw down upon this prepaid deposit. When your credit
balance is fully depleted you will need to top up your account.
When you want to start to use our API system,
you must first open a ticket in the reseller department requesting that your
account be updated to include the API functionality. Once you have chosen to use
your account for the purposes of connecting to SharpNIC via the API, you cannot
use your account for private label purposes. If you require the private label
functionality as well as the API functionality, you must open a separate account
(which is available at 50% of the standard set up fee). API and Private label
accounts need to be separated because they use different accounting systems.
After your request has been actioned, you will
need to fund your account so that you can begin integration and testing. Domain
names registered to your account through the API will progressively draw down
upon this prepaid deposit. When your credit balance is fully depleted you will
need to top up your account. Domain names that you register may be deleted and
are fully refundable if deleted within 3 days after registration.
Please note there currently is no test server
environment. You should delete all test domains within 3 days of registration to
be fully refunded.
